Local SEO Services
Local SEO is the work of ranking in the Google map pack — the three businesses shown with a map when someone searches a service near them. We handle Google Business Profile optimisation, citations, review generation, local content and on-page work. $950/month, or included in every retainer tier.
For most local service businesses, this is the highest-return place to start. It compounds, and unlike ads it doesn't stop the day you stop paying.
Is local SEO right for your business?
If customers find you by searching "[your service] near me," this is the single most valuable thing you can invest in.
The map pack sits above regular search results and below only paid ads. Three businesses appear. Everyone else is functionally invisible unless the searcher scrolls, and most don't.
This is a fit if:
- You serve customers in a defined geographic area
- You have a physical address or a defined service area
- People search for what you do rather than needing to be told they need it
- You can sustain a steady flow of Google reviews
Look elsewhere first if:
- You sell nationally with no local component — website SEO is the better fit
- You need leads this month. Local SEO takes 2–5 months to move. Run Local Service Ads alongside it while it builds.
- Your Google Business Profile is suspended. That gets fixed first — nothing else works until it is.

What actually moves map pack rankings?
Google weighs three things, and most businesses only think about one of them.
| Factor | What it means | How much you control it |
|---|---|---|
| Relevance | How well your profile and site match the search | High — categories, services, and content are all yours to fix |
| Distance | How close you are to the searcher | Low — you can shape service areas, not physics |
| Prominence | How well-known and well-reviewed you are | High — reviews, citations, links and mentions |
The practical translation: your Google Business Profile matters more than your website, and your reviews matter more than either. A business with 180 reviews at 4.8 stars and a thin website beats a business with 12 reviews and a beautiful one, almost every time.
That's why review generation is bundled from the Growth tier rather than sold as an extra.
How do we do it?
- Audit and cleanup. Profile completeness, category accuracy, citation consistency, duplicate listings, and any NAP variations across the web. Inconsistent name/address/phone data is the most common silent problem we find — and it confuses AI assistants as much as it confuses Google.
- Google Business Profile optimisation. Primary and secondary categories, service listings, service areas, attributes, hours, photos, and Q&A. Category selection alone is where most self-managed profiles leave rankings on the table.
- Citation building. Consistent listings across the directories that matter for your industry — plus the industry-specific ones most agencies skip.
- Review generation. A repeatable request cadence, because rating, volume and recency all feed rankings. We won't gate reviews — it violates Google's policy and risks the profile.
- On-page local SEO. Location signals, service pages, schema markup, and internal linking on your own site.
- Localized content. Service-area pages and local content that give Google reasons to associate you with your market, built only where there's genuine substance to write.
- Local link building. Sponsorships, associations, chambers, local press, supplier relationships. Local links, not generic outreach.
- Tracking. Map pack position by keyword and by location, plus call tracking so you can see which rankings actually produce calls.
What results should I expect, and when?
| Timeframe | What typically happens |
|---|---|
| Weeks 1–4 | Audit, cleanup, profile optimisation. Occasionally a fast win if something was badly misconfigured. |
| Months 2–3 | Citation consistency and review velocity start registering. Movement on less competitive terms. |
| Months 4–6 | Meaningful map pack movement on core terms. Call volume becomes visible in tracking. |
| Months 6–12 | Compounding. Rankings stabilise, cost per lead falls as organic share grows. |
Competitive markets take longer. Nashville personal injury and HVAC are both crowded — we'll tell you honestly what the timeline looks like in your specific category before you sign anything.
Which industries is this strongest for?
- HVAC, plumbing and restoration — emergency searches are overwhelmingly local and mobile
- Dental and med spa — proximity and reviews drive nearly the entire decision
- Law firms — especially family law and criminal defense, where people search locally under pressure
- Roofing and remodeling — slower cycles, but local trust signals still decide it
We also build city-specific pages for businesses serving multiple markets across Middle Tennessee.
Frequently asked questions
How much does local SEO cost?
Ours is $950 a month standalone, or included in every retainer tier starting at $1,500. Across the market, most small businesses pay between $500 and $3,000 a month. Below roughly $500 you're generally buying automated citation submissions and little else.
How long does local SEO take to work?
Expect meaningful map pack movement at months 4 to 6, with compounding through months 6 to 12. Less competitive categories move faster. If you need leads sooner, run Local Service Ads alongside — they produce leads within days of verification.
What's the difference between local SEO and regular SEO?
Local SEO targets the map pack and location-based searches, and is driven largely by your Google Business Profile, reviews and citations. Website SEO targets regular organic results and is driven by content, technical health and links. Most service businesses need both, weighted toward local.
Do I need a physical address?
Not necessarily. Service-area businesses can rank without a storefront by defining service areas in Google Business Profile and hiding the street address. You do need a real address to verify with.
How important are reviews really?
Very. Review rating, volume and recency are among the strongest prominence signals in the map pack, and they drive Local Service Ads rankings too. A strong review profile is usually worth more than a larger budget.
Can you guarantee I'll rank in the top three?
No, and be careful of anyone who does. Distance to the searcher is a major factor nobody controls — you may rank first for someone two miles away and fifth for someone eight miles away, at the same moment. We track position across a grid of locations rather than reporting a single misleading number.
What if my Google Business Profile gets suspended?
We handle reinstatement. Suspensions usually trace back to address issues, category violations, or keyword stuffing in the business name. It's fixable, but nothing else in local SEO works until it is.
Can I do local SEO myself?
A good deal of it, yes — and our free local SEO guide walks through the whole thing. The parts that take real time are citation cleanup at scale, sustaining review velocity, and local link building.
