YouTube Ads & Video Marketing
YouTube is the cheapest way to be seen by people who will need you in three months. We run YouTube ad campaigns and produce the video that goes in them. Management $1,200/month; video production from $1,500 per video. Minimum recommended media budget is $1,000/month.
Used properly it isn't a lead channel. It's the layer that makes every other channel perform better.
Is YouTube right for your business?
Almost nobody buys a roof from a YouTube ad. What YouTube does is make people recognise your name before they search — and a searcher who recognises you clicks your ad instead of the one above it, at no extra cost per click.
This works if:
- Your service is high-consideration — roofing, remodeling, med spa treatments, choosing an attorney
- Trust has to be built before someone calls
- You're already running search and want to make it cheaper
- You have or can produce watchable video — real crews, real work, a real person talking
- You can commit 3+ months. This is the slowest-paying paid channel
Skip it if:
- You need leads this month. Run LSA or Google Ads.
- Your demand is purely emergency. Nobody watches a video when the basement is flooding.
- You have no video and no appetite to make any. This channel is entirely creative-dependent.
- Your total budget is under about $3,000/month. Awareness spending is a luxury before capture is fully funded.

How does YouTube actually make search cheaper?
This is the part worth understanding, because it's why the channel earns its place despite generating few direct leads.
Someone who has seen you before behaves differently in search results. They click your ad at a higher rate, which improves quality score, which lowers your cost per click. They convert at a higher rate once they land, because they arrive already half-persuaded. And they're less likely to shop three competitors.
So the honest way to judge YouTube isn't its own cost per lead — that number will look bad. It's what happens to your blended cost per acquired customer across every channel once it's running.
We report it that way. Judging YouTube in isolation is how businesses cancel the thing that was quietly improving everything else.
Where do the campaigns run?
| Campaign type | What it does | When we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Retargeting | Shows video to people who visited your site or engaged with your ads | Always first. Cheapest and highest-return YouTube spend there is |
| In-market audiences | Targets people Google identifies as actively researching your category | Second. Reaches genuine near-term demand |
| Custom segments | Targets people who recently searched specific terms, or who visit competitor sites | Strong for high-value verticals |
| Local awareness | Broad geographic reach in your service area | Only with real budget behind it, and only when the first three are saturated |
We start with retargeting on every account. It's a small audience, but it's the one that pays.
What about video production?
Video is the whole channel. A well-targeted campaign with weak video will underperform a mediocre campaign with strong video, every time.
| Format | Use | From |
|---|---|---|
| Brand story | Who you are, why you exist. Runs for years | $1,500 |
| Service explainer | What a specific job involves and what it costs | $1,500 |
| Job site footage | Real crews, real work. Often the best-performing asset | $1,500 |
| Customer testimonial | Highest-trust format, hardest to schedule | $1,500 |
| Short-form set | 4–6 cuts for YouTube Shorts, Meta and organic social | $2,500 |
Phone footage you capture yourself is genuinely useful raw material — we'll direct what to shoot. It usually beats anything staged.
What about organic YouTube?
We optimise your channel and videos as part of management: titles, descriptions, thumbnails, chapters and playlists. Organic YouTube compounds slowly and can produce real inbound over time.
But it's a slower play than SEO, and we won't oversell it. For most service businesses the paid side justifies the channel; organic reach is the bonus that accumulates while you run it.
Which industries is this strongest for?
- Roofing — high ticket, visual, and storm-triggered awareness pays off fast
- Remodeling — long consideration windows where video does the persuading
- Med spas — treatment explanation reduces friction before booking
- Personal injury — expensive search clicks, so brand recognition has outsized value
- HVAC — for planned replacement work, not emergency calls
Frequently asked questions
How much does YouTube ads management cost?
$1,200 a month, plus a minimum media budget of $1,000/month. Video production is from $1,500 per video. We take no percentage of your ad spend.
Will YouTube ads generate leads directly?
Some, but that's not the point and we won't pitch it that way. YouTube's value shows up as a lower blended cost per acquired customer across all your channels — better click-through and conversion rates on search once people recognise you.
Do I need to be on camera?
It helps, particularly for professional services where people are choosing a person as much as a firm. But job site footage, crew work and customer testimonials all perform well without the owner appearing.
How long before it works?
Retargeting shows an effect within weeks. The broader awareness benefit takes 3+ months to appear in blended numbers. This is the slowest-paying paid channel we run, and worth knowing that before starting.
Can I use video I already have?
Often yes. We'll review it. Older brand videos frequently need re-cutting for the format — YouTube ads need to land the hook in the first five seconds, and most corporate video doesn't.
Is this the same as YouTube SEO?
Related but different. Channel and video optimisation for organic reach is included in management. This page is primarily about paid campaigns, which produce results far faster.
Should I run YouTube before Meta?
Usually not. Meta produces leads directly at a lower cost and is the better first demand-creation channel. YouTube is a strong third or fourth channel once capture and Meta are running.

YouTube earns its place for some businesses and is a distraction for others. Thirty minutes, free, and we'll tell you which you are — the answer is usually clear from your job value and current channel mix.
