Marketing & Content Strategy
Most service businesses don't have a strategy problem in the abstract — they have a "we're spending money and can't tell what's working" problem. Strategy work fixes that: market and competitor research, positioning, messaging, a channel plan, and a budget model built on your actual unit economics. Delivered as the $2,500 Growth Roadmap, credited in full toward your first 90 days if you retain us. Ongoing advisory is $1,200/month.
You own the roadmap either way. Some clients take it and execute themselves.
Do you actually need strategy work?
If you can't answer these four questions, yes.
- What does a customer cost you to acquire, by channel?
- What is a customer worth over their lifetime, not just the first job?
- Which channel would you cut first if your budget dropped 30%?
- Why would someone choose you over the firm three miles away, in one sentence that isn't "quality and service"?
Most owners can answer one or two. That gap is where marketing budgets quietly go to die.
This is worth buying if:
- You're spending on marketing but can't attribute results
- You're about to increase spend meaningfully and want to aim it first
- You've had inconsistent results from agencies and don't know why
- You're entering a new market, launching a service line, or opening a location
- You want a plan you can execute in-house
Skip it if:
- You're under $500K in revenue and have never run a campaign. Start with our free playbook and one channel.
- You already have a clear plan and just need execution. Go straight to a retainer.
- You won't share financial data. We can't model economics we can't see.
What do you actually receive?
Not a slide deck. Five documents you can act on.
| Deliverable | What's in it |
|---|---|
| Market & competitor analysis | Who you're actually competing with online, what they're spending on, where they're weak, and what search demand exists in your market |
| Positioning & messaging | Your differentiation stated in language a customer would repeat, plus the specific copy angles for ads and pages |
| Channel plan | Which channels, in what order, with what expected cost per lead and why. Including which ones to skip |
| Budget model | A spreadsheet tied to your job value, close rate and capacity — what spend produces what revenue at what margin |
| 12-month roadmap | Sequenced quarter by quarter, with what happens in-house versus outsourced |
Delivered in 2–3 weeks. Yours permanently, whether you continue with us or not.
How do we build it?
- Discovery workshop. 90 minutes with you and anyone who touches sales. Job values, close rates, capacity, seasonality, best and worst customers, and what you've already tried.
- Data pull. Whatever exists — Google Analytics, Search Console, ad accounts, CRM, call records. Often the first finding is that tracking has been broken for months.
- Competitive research. What your competitors rank for, what they're bidding on, what their messaging claims, and where the gaps are.
- Demand analysis. How much search volume actually exists in your market, and how much of it is reachable at a price that works.
- Economic modeling. Working backwards from a profitable customer acquisition cost rather than forwards from a budget guess.
- Roadmap build. Sequenced by what compounds — usually tracking first, then the fastest channel, then the slowest.
- Walkthrough. 60 minutes to go through everything and answer questions.
What does ongoing strategy look like?
After the Roadmap, some clients want a strategic partner without full execution. That's $1,200/month: monthly working session, quarterly plan review, budget reallocation decisions, and being on call when something changes.
It suits businesses with an in-house marketer who needs direction, or owners who want a second opinion before committing spend. Most clients move into a full retainer instead, where strategy is included.
Which industries is this strongest for?
- B2B and SaaS — long cycles, multiple stakeholders, where getting the plan wrong is expensive
- Law firms — practice-area economics differ enormously, and cost per signed case is what matters
- Multi-location home services — market prioritisation and budget allocation across locations
- Businesses adding a service line — where the existing channel mix may not transfer
Frequently asked questions
How much does a marketing strategy cost?
The Growth Roadmap is $2,500 and takes 2–3 weeks. It's credited in full against your first 90 days if you retain us. Ongoing strategic advisory is $1,200/month.
What if I just want the plan and not the execution?
That's a legitimate outcome and it happens. You own the roadmap outright. If you'd rather run it in-house or hand it to another agency, nothing stops you.
Why is the Roadmap credited back?
Because it isn't a profit centre. It's how we both find out whether this is a fit before anyone signs a six-month agreement, and pricing it to be easy to say yes to serves that better than pricing it to earn.
What do you need from me?
Ninety minutes for the workshop, access to whatever analytics and ad accounts exist, and honest numbers on job value, close rate and capacity. Without the numbers we're guessing.
How is this different from a free consultation?
The free consultation is 30 minutes and gives you a direction. The Roadmap is 2–3 weeks of research and modeling and gives you a plan with numbers behind it.
Can you do this for a business outside Nashville?
Yes. The research and modeling work anywhere. Local market knowledge is a genuine advantage in Middle Tennessee, which is why most of our clients are here.
What if the answer is that I shouldn't spend on marketing right now?
Then we'll say so. It's happened — usually when capacity is the real constraint, or when intake is losing more leads than any campaign could replace.
